Food, fun and families || York day 2

'What do we have to do with this?', my dad asked. Yesterday, after we got our luggage checked, something strange had appeared in my dad's suitcase. It was a kind of stick and we didn't know exactly where it came from. At first we thought it came from the suitcase itself. After we checked it again, however, we saw that it came from Germany and we looked up the brand. The "stick" was a thing that was used to check luggage on the airport. When the man had opened my dad's suitcase he has probably put it in there by accident. My dad thinks he's having a lot of trouble at the moment. He also thinks we were getting followed by the CIA, because they wanted to get that thing back.

Scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, pancakes, waffles, yoghurt, fruit, stuff I don't know the name from and even more. Breakfast. I think I've eaten more than I normally do in a day, but it tasted so good! I got the stuff I just mentioned and my parents and my brother got some of the same food and some other food. Another family was sitting next to us and, despite the fact that there was so much food, they only ate for about 15 minutes. They also took a lot of fruit like oranges and apples from the buffet, but those were suddenly gone, so we suspect them from putting them in their bag.

'Your dad and I had to laugh this night', my mom said. We sleep in the same room with the 4 of us and, apparently, Tom and I sleep in the same way. I don't really think this is very important information, but my mom wants to get revenge for the start of my blog from yesterday: 'What's everyone gonna think of me?!', so I had to put it in.

At the beginning of the day, we went to a park and it looked really nice. 'I want a park like this in Someren as well', I told my mom. We really liked it, Tom and my dad didn't as much. There were quite some squirrels which they did like, because squirrels are just funny. Also, my dad dumped the sticked I talked about earlier in a trash can in the park, so the CIA couldn't follow us anymore.

'The York Minster Library!', I said to my mom. We were looking at a map from York and I saw the word 'Library'. My dad and Tom didn't really want to go there, since they don't really like reading. Just like someone else who doesn't want to read my blogs because this person thinks I write too much, so this person will just look at the picture. This person won't read this, but you know who you are! XD We entered Dean's Park, so the library should be close. After a little while, we found it, but it was closed.

Near The Shambles, this super cute street, was a square where a man was performing. He sat on a unicycle and was juggling with 3 knives while on the unicycle. It was really awesome. The show itself wasn't something really special, except for the fact that he was on a unicycle juggling with 3 knives, but he was really funny and that's what made it an amazing show. After the show, my brother and I went to give him some money. He was standing on a higher part of the square and we had to climb about 2 or 3 steps. And I tripped over. I guess you could say I fell for him ;-). He was really nice about it though, but for the rest of the day I had to live with this awkward moment.

Tom was hungry, so we entered a cafe and I felt myself getting a little more hipster. I had hot chocolate with a blueberry muffin and it looked so good. The cafe itself was decorated with a lot of books and I loved it. I feel like being a hipster would be pretty good, even if it's just for all the lovely cafes you go to.

'And I've read this book and this book and I want to read this series and Ive read this series and I want to read this book and I have read this book and I've read this book. Oh and this one as well! And...'. Let's just say we'd entered Waterstones. It was such a beautiful place and there were so many books and I just want to live there. Tom and my dad obviously didn't, but I accept that.

We went back to the hotel for a while and after that we went out for dinner. We had dinner at Joe's Kitchen and I had Fish 'n Chips, which I was really happy about, since I really wanted to eat that. After that we went to the station, so Julie could pick us up.

Julie had picked us up together with one of her sons, Billy, because she can't leave all of her 3 sons at home without blood getting on the wall and stuff. We arrived and Julie showed us around. I get Finn's bedroom for the upcoming 2 weeks, which is entirely Star Wars themed. As far as I've seen, everyone in this house really loves Star Wars, which I find really awesome. I've never seen Star Wars, but I just find it great that they all love something so much.

After a while, we brought my parents and Tom back to the hotel. We hugged each other goodbye and then I left with Julie. 'What a lovely family you have', she said. When we came back to Julie's house, I started unpacking my suitcase. We came to the conclusion that my clothes aren't exactly what you call 'smart casual', so there was a little problem there. The school where I'll be helping next week apparently doesn't really like jeans, but those are the only bottoms I have. Luckily enough, Kiera, Julie's daughter, was kind enough to let me borrow some of her clothes, so I can at least survive tomorrow.

I've mentioned almost the entire family now, but I'll give a nice overview for you. Firstly, we have Julie. She's the mom and she's really sweet. She also has some pink hair and that's something I find very awesome. Next, we have Tony. Tony is Julie's husband, but he works abroad a lot, so I haven't met him yet. Following is Kiera. Kiera is their daughter and she is 19 years old. She is pregnant, but she doesn't look like it yet, even though the baby, a girl, will be born in May. After Kiera, there's Joel. Joel is really tall and with really tall, I mean really really tall. He's 17 years old and he's mostly in his room on the Xbox. Next up is Finn. Finn is 13 years old and I have his room at the moment. He's really good at kickboxing. Last is Billy. He is 11 years old and he's really funny. We had to laugh a lot whenever he said something.

Now I'm just gonna watch Zondag Met Lubach on YouTube and after that I'll go to bed. Right now it's a bit awkward, being in an entirely new family, but I think I'll get used to it pretty quickly.

Update: I've just realised Zondag Met Lubach hasn't been on today, so I'll just read Harry Potter or watch something else on YouTube
